A Scent
You Feel

I SIENTE is a perfume house in Kanpur. We make scents you keep noticing on yourself through the day.

"Every bottle we make comes down to one feeling,
and getting it right can take months."

I SIENTE means "I feel" in Spanish. Smell is the quickest of the senses. One note can put you back in a room you have not thought about in years, and we keep that in mind while making every fragrance.

The Beginning

How It
Started

I SIENTE began in a small workshop in Kanpur in 2022. The team behind it had spent years being fussy about the perfumes they wore, and that slowly turned into wanting to make their own. The first batches were oils mixed by hand and tested on paper strips.

Most of those early tries did not work. Some smelled flat, others were close but faded within an hour. It took many evenings and a lot of discarded bottles before we settled on the warm, amber-heavy scent that people now know us for.

"A smell reaches you before your mind has caught up with it. Whatever you feel in that first second is usually the honest answer."

The Philosophy

What Luxury
Means to Us

When we say luxury, we mean the care that goes into the work. We check where every material comes from and how it is made. Getting the top notes to sit well with the base can take weeks of small changes. The weight of the glass and the click of the cap get the same fussing, because you handle those every day.

Our perfumes are made as extrait de parfum, the strongest form you can buy, so a small amount lasts through the day. The raw materials come from Grasse in France and from Kannauj in India, which means each blend carries something from both traditions.

The Craft

Made by Hand,
Without Rushing

Each fragrance goes back and forth between our perfumers and the founding team for months. We do not fix a launch date and then push the blend to be ready. It is done when we stop wanting to change anything about it.

The bottle gets as much attention as the liquid inside. Its glass is heavy in the hand, and we keep the packaging around it plain. By the time the box reaches you, we want every part of it to feel worked out.

What We Stand For

What We Care About

These are the ideas we come back to whenever there is a call to make about a product.

I

Real ingredients

What you buy is the formula we signed off on, with nothing swapped out to save money. If a good material gets costly, we pay for it or we hold the product back until we can.

II

Careful work

Someone made a decision about every part of this, down to the cap and the label. Small things add up on a product you use daily, so we try to get them right the first time.

III

It becomes yours

A perfume has done its job when it starts to feel like yours. The best thing a customer tells us is that people keep asking what they are wearing.

The Founding Team

The Person Who
Started It

I SIENTE was started by Nitish Arora. He grew up near the attar trade of Kannauj, a town a few hours from Kanpur that has been making perfume oils for more than a thousand years. He wanted to build a modern perfume house in India that used what Kannauj already knew.

The idea was to put two ways of working together. Modern perfumery is exact about balance and about how a scent should open and settle over a few hours. Kannauj adds a depth to the base that is harder to get otherwise, and what comes out has a character of its own.

The team is still small and still works out of Kanpur. We are building slowly, with a clear idea of how we want the brand to smell and feel, and we would like it to be something people can trust for years.
